The Holy Rosary is considered by Catholics as a perfect prayer because it reminds us of the story of our salvation. As we pray the rosary, we meditate the mysteries of joy, sorrow and glory of Jesus and Mary. The prayer itself is simple and humble so much like Mary. It takes only 15 minutes to pray the Holy Rosary but is considered as a powerful prayer. We Filipinos are known for showing our great devotion to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary by praying it together with the whole family every day, believing that a family that prays together, stays together.

Marian feast days are specific holy days of the liturgical year recognized by Christians as significant Marian days for the celebration of events in the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her veneration. Among the Marian feast celebration is Our Lady of the Rosary, also known as Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. This is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary in relation to the Rosary. The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is October 7.

Jesus loved His mother dearly, that He will do everything that his Mother asks from him. If we traced history, it was Mary who said the sweetest “YES” that made everything possible. It was through her that the King of all kings was born. It is in this simple idea that God loves Mary and through the Rosary that we show our devotion and love to her Mother by asking her intercession in our petitions.

Being faithful to the Holy Rosary is like saying “I love you Jesus and Mary” and just like any mother she listens, she protects.

“The Rosary is a powerful weapon to put the demons to flight and to keep oneself from sin…If you desire peace in your hearts, in your homes, and in your country, assemble each evening to recite the Rosary. Let not even one day pass without saying it, no matter how burdened you may be with many cares and labors.” (Pope Pius XI)
